What is the Most Valuable Atlas in the World?

Answer:

A version of Ptolemy's Cosmographia, dating from 1492, was sold for $1,925,000 at Sotheby's, New York City, USA, on January 31, 1990. Ptolemy not only envisioned the world as round but invented and set upon it lines of longitude and latitude. Every site was then given identifying coordinates. This single treatise remained the standard work on geographical theory throughout the Middle Ages.
